Went kayaking up Chimicum Creek near the island. This is a beautiful place to Kayak with calm waters and at high tide, a wonderful meandering inland creek lined with big trees and brush with lots of wildlife to encounter. Had a big dinner on the island with Dean, Julie, Marshal and three members of a family visiting from Austria. The Austrian family will stay for several more days.

14 mile bicycle ride and a lot of relaxing while socializing with Dean and Julie (Dean’s daughter).

FRIDAY August 12, 2011


Drove up to Marrowstone Island and set up my trailer in front of Dean Sanders home where I have a great view of the channel leading into Puget Sound. I will stay here for a couple weeks.

THURSDAY August 11, 2011


Visited some of the shops in town, made a fun 4-wheeler trip into the mountains with Gary and visited Tom Smith. I took Tom’s new Triumph Tiger out for a ride. I like the bike a lot.

Left Reno and traveled up to Sisters, Oregon and the home of Gary and SueAnn Olsen.

Continued to look at the classic cars at Hot August Nights most of the day and evening while also making quick trips to Cabelas and REI for some needed items.

MONDAY August 8, 2011
Left Inyokern and headed up to Reno. Landed at Don and Ann Simone’s and parked my trailer. This evening we took in some of the classic cars at Hot August Nights.
